Η Σιωπή των Αμνών (Silence of the Lambs) είναι ταινία θρίλερ παραγωγής 1991, σε σκηνοθεσία Τζόναθαν Ντέμι, με τους Τζόντι Φόστερ και Άντονυ Χόπκινς στους πρωταγωνιστικούς ρόλους. Το σενάριο της ταινίας έχει βασιστεί στο ομώνυμο μυθιστόρημα του Τόμας Χάρις. Η ταινία βραβεύτηκε με πέντε βραβεία Όσκαρ.

Πλοκή [Επεξεργασία]
H νεαρή μαθητευόμενη πράκτορας του FBI Clarice Starling(Τζόντι Φόστερ) θα επισκεφθεί τον, χρόνια έγκλειστο ιδιοφυή καννίβαλο, ψυχίατρο Hannibal Lecter(Άντονυ Χόπκινς) με σκοπό να του αποσπάσει πληροφορίες σχετικά με κάποιον κατ' εξακολούθηση δολοφόνο(Τεντ Λεβίνι),ο οποίος έχει απαγάγει την κόρη(Μπρουκ Σμιθ)μιας γερουσιαστού. Για να αποσπάσει όμως τις πληροφορίες που θέλει θα πρέπει να του ανοίξει τις πύλες της ψυχής της και να του μιλήσει για τη χειρότερη ανάμνηση των παιδικών της χρόνων.

Ανταπόκριση [Επεξεργασία]
Ο Άντονυ Χόπκινς κέρδισε διθυραμβικές κριτικές για το ρόλο του ως Hannibal Lecter, παρά το ότι η εμφάνισή του στην ταινία είναι μόλις 16 λεπτά. Η ερμηνεία του κέρδισε το Όσκαρ Α' Αντρικού Ρόλου και παραμένει ο μικρότερος Α' Ρόλος στην ιστορία των Όσκαρ, που κέρδισε το βραβείο.
Η ταινία κέρδισε πολύ καλές κριτικές. Πέρα από τον Άντονυ Χόπκινς η Τζόντι Φόστερ και ο Τεντ Λεβίνι κέρδισαν πολύ θετικά σχόλια για την ερμηνεία τους.

Hannibal Lecter: First principles, Clarice. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature? What does he do, this man you seek? Clarice Starling: He kills women-- Hannibal Lecter: No! That is incidental. What is the first and principal thing he does, what need does he serve by killing? Clarice Starling: Anger, social resentment, sexual frustration-- Hannibal Lecter: No, he covets. That`s his nature. And how do we begin to covet, Clarice? Do we seek out things to covet? Murray: Is it true what they`re sayin`, he`s some kinda vampire? Clarice: They don`t have a name for what he is.

Jack Crawford: Believe me, you don`t want Hannibal Lecter inside your head.
Lecter: You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you`re not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you`ve tried so desparately to shed? Pure West Virginia. What`s your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars...while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI. Clarice: You see a lot, Doctor.
Dr. Hannibal Lecter: A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
Lecter: Amputate a man`s leg and he can still feel it tickling. Tell me mum, when your little girl is on the slab, where will it tickle you?
Dr. Hannibal Lecter: I do wish we could chat longer, but I`m having an old friend for dinner.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter: Good evening, Clarice. Clarice Starling: I brought you your drawings, Doctor. Just until you get your view. Dr. Hannibal Lecter: How very thoughtful. Or did Jack Crawford send you in for one last wheedle before you`re both booted off the case? Clarice Starling: No, I came because I wanted to. Dr. Hannibal Lecter: People will say we`re in love.
