Ο Τζέιμς Χάρρισον Κόμπερν (αγγλικά: James Harrison Cobern III, 31 Αυγούστου 1928 – 18 Νοεμβρίου 2002) ήταν Αμερικανός ηθοποιός του κινηματογράφου. Είχε παίξει σε πάνω από 70 ταινίες κυρίως δράσης. Το 1998 κέρδισε το Όσκαρ Β΄ Ανδρικού Ρόλου για την ερμηνεία του, στην ταινία "Οδύνη" (Affliction, 1997). Από τις πιο γνωστές ταινίες που συμμετείχε είναι Και οι επτά ήταν υπέροχοι, Η Μεγάλη Απόδραση, Ο Γρίφος, και ο Σιδηρούς Σταυρός.

Βιογραφία

Ο Τζέιμς Κόμπερν γεννήθηκε στο Λώρελ της Νεμπράσκας, Ο πατέρας του, Τζέιμς Χάρρισον Κόμπερν II ήταν Σκωτσέζο-Ιρλανδός μετανάστης. Η μητέρα του Μάιλετ Κόμπερν ήταν μετανάστρια από τη Σουηδία. Ο πατέρας του Κόμπερν διατηρουσε επιχείρηση αυτοκινήτων, η οποία καταστράφηκε την περιόδο της Μεγάλης Ύφεσης. Ο Τζέιμς Κόμπερν μεγάλωσε στο Κόμπτον της Καλιφόρνια, και το 1950 κατεταγεί στο Στρατό των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, όπου και υπηρέτησε ως οδηγός φορτηγού και μουσικός παραγωγός σε ραδιοφωνικό σταθμό του Στρατού στο Τέξας.Επίσης ήταν και αφηγητής σε εκπαιδεύτικες ταινίες στο Μάιντς της Γερμανίας. Θεωρείται φυσιογνωμικό πρότυπο για την αποτύπωση του χαρακτήρα κόμικς Mazor Eazy, από το δημιουργό Κάρλος Εζκουέρα.
