Βασίζεται στον catalogue raisonné (πλήρη και σχολιασμένο κατάλογο) του Jacques Thuillier, ιστορικού της τέχνης ιδιαίτερα επιφυλακτικού, και σε σχετική εργασία του Anthony Blunt. Λόγω των αμφισβητήσεων, αναθεωρήσεων γνωμών και ανευρέσεων έργων που θεωρούνταν χαμένα, ο κατάλογος αυτός δεν μπορεί να θεωρηθεί οριστικός.
