Η Αμινά Γκουρίμπ (Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim, GCSK, CSK, PhD[9][10] (γενν. στις 17 Οκτωβρίου 1959)[11] είναι επιστήμονας ειδική σε θέματα βιοποικιλότητας και Πρόεδρος του Μαυρίκιου από τον Ιούνιο του 2015 ως τις 23 Μαρτίου 2018. Ως πρόεδρος είναι αρχηγός κράτους και αρχηγός του στρατού. Τον Δεκέμβριο του 2014 προκάλεσε αίσθηση όταν έγινε γνωστή η υποψηφιότητά της με τη συμμαχία Λεπέπ. Έπειτα από την παραίτηση του Κέιλας Πραγκ στις 29 Μαΐου 2015, αμφότεροι ο πρωθυπουργός Άνρουντ Τζάγκνοτ και ο ηγέτης της αντιπολίτευσης Πολ Μπερενζέ, καλωσόρισαν θετικά το διορισμό της, ο οποίος εγκρίθηκε ομόφωνα σε ψηφοφορία στην Εθνοσυνέλευση.

Είναι η πρώτη γυναίκα που εξελέγη πρόεδρος της χώρας και η 3η γυναίκα αρχηγός κράτους μετά την Ελισάβετ Β΄ και την υπηρεσιακή πρόεδρο (2012) Μονίκ Οχσάν Μπελεπό.

Τον Μάρτιο του 2018 παραιτήθηκε από πρόεδρος, εξαιτίας της φερόμενης ανάμιξής της σε οικονομικό σκάνδαλο.

Σήμερα η Γκουρίμπ είναι διευθύντρια του Ερευνητικού Κέντρου CIDP Research & Innovation (πρώην ονομασία Cephyr, Centre for Phytotherapy Research) όπου αφιερώνει το χρόνο της στην έρευνα των ιατρικών και διατροφικών προεκτάσεων που έχουν τα ιθαγενή φυτά στον Μαυρίκιο. [12] Προηγουμένως, ήταν καθηγήτρια Οργανικής Χημείας στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μαυρίκιου (2001) και εν συνεχεία υπηρέτησε ως πρόεδρος του Επιστημονικού Τμήματος και αντιπρύτανης (2004–2010). Έχει επίσης εργαστεί στο Ερευνητικό Συμβούλιο του Μαυρίκιου ως διευθύντρια έρευνας (1995–1997).[13] Είχε την προεδρία του Διεθνούς Συμβουλίου για την Επιστημονική Ένωση- στο Τοπικό Γραφείο της Αφρικής (2011–2014).[14]

Γεννήθηκε στο χωριό Σουρινάμ του Μαυρίκιου το 1959. Το 1983 αποφοίτησε από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Σάρεϊ με τίτλο BSc στη Χημεία. Εν συνεχεία έκανε διδακτορικό στην Οργανική Χημεία, στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Έξετερ. Επέστρεψε στον Μαυρίκιο το 1987 και ανέλαβε εργασία στο εκεί πανεπιστήμιο.[15]

Η Γκουρίμπ στις 9 Μαρτίου 2018 ανακοίνωσε την παραίτησή της σε ισχύ από τις 12 Μαρτίου, έπειτα από τις κατηγορίες ότι χρησιμοποίησε μία τραπεζική κάρτα που προοριζόταν για φιλανθρωπικές οργανώσεις και έκανε αγορές για την ίδια, αξίας δεκάδων χιλιάδων δολαρίων, παραβιάζοντας το σύνταγμα της χώρας.[16] Η οικονομική υπόθεση στην οποία ενεπλάκη η πρόεδρος σχετίζεται με τις διασυνδέσεις της ίδιας με τον αμφιλεγόμενο Ανγκολανό επιχειρηματία Άλβαρο Σουμπρίνιο.

Το 1988, παντρεύτηκε τον Ανουάρ Φακίμ, χειρουργό και απέκτησαν 2 παιδιά: έναν γιο, τον Άνταμ, και μία κόρη την Ιμάν. Σήμερα ζει στην πόλη Κουάτρ Μπορν μαζί με τον άντρα της, τα παιδιά της και τους ηλικιωμένους γονείς της.

Η Δρ Γκουρίμπ-Φακίμ έχει τιμηθεί με διεθνή βραβεία, όπως το βραβείο της L'Oréal–UNESCO για τις Γυναίκες Επιστήμονες (2007), το Βραβείο του Εθνικού Κοινωνικού και Οικονομικού Συμβουλίου (2007), το βραβείο CTA / NEPAD / AGRA / RUFORUM για τις ‘Γυναίκες Επιστήμονες της Αφρικής’ και το βραβείο της Αφρικανικής Ένωσης για τις γυναίκες επιστήμονες.[13] Τιμήθηκε επίσης με τον τίτλο ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques’ από την Κυβέρνηση της Γαλλίας το 2009.[17] Όταν έγινε πρόεδρος, προήχθη αυτόματα στην ανώτατη τιμή για πολίτη, το Τάγμα του Αστεριού και του Κλειδιού του Ινδικού Ωκεανού (GSCK).[18]
