The Acropolis of Athens, Greece Built over 2500 years ago, the Parthenon remains one of the most visited archeological sites in the world. The Acropolis is a rocky plateau of limestone rising center of Athens. It is about 156 meters high. Its flat summit measures a little less than 300 meters from east to west and, in its natural state 85 meters from north to south; the work of the fifth century BC. AD having expanded to nearly 150 meters. The Acropolis is easily accessible by a steep slope on the west side. Construite il y a plus de 2500 ans, le Parthénon reste l'un des sites archéologiques les plus visités au monde. L’Acropole d'Athènes est un plateau rocheux en calcaire s'élevant au centre d'Athènes. Il est haut d'environ 156 mètres. Son sommet plat mesure un peu moins de 300 mètres d'est en ouest et, dans son état naturel 85 mètres du nord au sud ; les travaux du ve siècle av. J.-C. l'ayant élargi jusqu'à près de 150 mètres. L'Acropole n'est facilement accessible que par une pente escarpée sur le côté ouest.
