Περιγραφή
English: Soviet commemorative 5 rubles Cu-Ni coin (mass: 20.0g, mf: N/A, diameter: 35mm, thickness: 3.0mm, quality: proof) of the Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat, also known as the Pokrovsky Cathedral. It is more well-known in the English speaking world as Saint Basil's Cathedral.
  • Obverse shows the coat of arms of the USSR, the Russian text for "USSR" (СССР), the coin's denomination of 5 rubles (5 РУБЛЕЙ), and the date of mintage (1989).
  • Reverse shows an image of the cathedral, the text "Cathedral of the Intercession on the Moat" in Russian (СОБОР ПОКРОВА НА РВУ) on the upper rim of the coin, the text "Moscow" in Russian (МОСКВА), and the date of consecration of the cathedral (1561).
