Τζιμ Πάρσονς
Ο Τζιμ Πάρσονς (James Joseph "Jim" Parsons, 24 Μαρτίου 1973) είναι Αμερικανός ηθοποιός. Είναι περισσότερο γνωστός για τον ρόλο του εκκεντρικού φυσικού Σέλντον Κούπερ στη σειρά του CBS, The Big Bang Theory. Έχει λάβει αρκετά βραβεία, μεταξύ των οποίων 4 βραβεία Έμμυ Α' Ανδρικού Ρόλου σε κωμική σειρά και Χρυσή Σφαίρα Α' Ανδρικού Ρόλου σε τηλεοπτική σειρά ή κωμωδία.
Το 2011, ο Πάρσονς έκανε το ντεμπούτο του στο Μπρόντγουεϊ ενσαρκώνοντας τον Tommy Boatwright στην παράσταση The Normal Heart, για την οποία έλαβε υποψηφιότητα για το βραβείο Drama Desk. Ενσάρκωσε τον ίδιο ρόλο στην κινηματογραφική παραγωγή της παράστασης και έλαβε την έβδομη υποψηφιότητα για βραβείο Έμμυ, αυτή τη φορά στην κατηγορία Β' Ανδρικού Ρόλου σε μίνι σειρά ή ταινία. Ο Πάρσονς γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στο Χιούστον του Τέξας και μεγάλωσε σε μια από τις βορειότερες επαρχιακές πόλεις του, το Spring. Είναι ο γιος του Milton Joseph "Mickey / Jack" Parsons Jr. και της δασκάλας Judy Ann. Η αδερφή του Julie Ann Parsons είναι και αυτή δασκάλα. Φοίτησε στο λύκειο Klein Oak στο Spring. Σε ηλικία έξι ετών, έπαιξε το πουλί Koka-Kola στην σχολική παράσταση The Elephant's Child ; μετά τον οποίο ο Πάρσονς αποφάσισε να ασχοληθεί με την υποκριτική. Επηρεάστηκε από τις κωμικές σειρές Three's Company, Family Ties, and Μπιλ Κόσμπι.
Έλαβε πτυχίο από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Χιούστον. Κατά την διάρκεια των σπουδών του ήταν αρκετά παραγωγικός, εμφανιζόμενος σε 17 έργα μέσα σε τρία χρόνια. Ήταν ιδρυτικό μέλος της Infernal Bridegroom Prοductions και έκανε συχνές εμφανίσεις στο Stages Repertoty Theatre. Ο Πάρσονς συνέχισε τις σπουδές στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Σαν Ντιέγκο το 1999. Ήταν ένας από τους επτά φοιτητές που έγιναν αποδεκτοί σε ένα ιδιαίτερο διετές πρόγραμμα πάνω στο κλασικό θέατρο, διδασκόμενος σε συνεργασία με το Old Globe Theatre. Ο Πάρσονς απόλαυσε τις σπουδές του και ανέφερε σε μια συνέντευξη ότι θα είχε κυνηγήσει μια διδακτορική καριέρα στην υποκριτική εάν αυτό ήταν δυνατό: "Το πανεπιστήμιο ήταν αρκετά ασφαλές! Συχνά εξέπληττες τον εαυτό σου για όσα ήσουν ικανός να κάνεις και δεν ένιωθες έκπληξη από ορισμένα πράγματα". Ο Πάρσονς αποφοίτησε το 2001 και μετακόμισε στην Νέα Υόρκη.
Ο Πάρσονς αναζήτησε την ιστορία της οικογένειάς του στο ντοκιμαντέρ του TLC Who Do You Think You Are? τον Σεπτέμβριο 2013 και ανακάλυψε ότι έχει γαλλική καταγωγή. Ένας από τους προγόνους του ήταν ο αρχιτέκτονας Louis-François Trouard (1729–1804).

Από την αρχή της καριέρας του, το 1994 έχει εμφανιστεί σε 17 ταινίες και 19 σειρές. Επίσης, από το 2008, έχει βραβευτεί με ένα TCA, δύο Critics' Choice Television Awards, μία Χρυσή Σφαίρα[12] και ένα Emmy. Το 2016 έπαιξε στην ταινία Αφανείς Ηρωίδες και κέρδισε μαζί με όλο το καστ βραβείο Satellite και SAG.[13]
Έχει δώσει τη φωνή του σε μεταγλωττίσεις, όπως στην τηλεοπτική σειρά Family Guy (σε δύο επεισόδια) και στην ταινία Επιτέλους φτάσαμε σπίτι (2015).
Το 2015 απέκτησε το δικό του αστέρι στη Λεωφόρο της Δόξας στο Χόλυγουντ.[14]

Ο Πάρσονς κατοικεί στην γειτονιά Gramercy Park στην Νέα Υόρκη ενώ διατηρεί και σπίτι στο Λος Άντζελες. Ο πατέρας του πέθανε σε αυτοκινητιστικό ατύχημα στις 29 Απριλίου 2001. Στις 23 Μαΐου 2012 ένα άρθρο στην εφημερίδα The New York Times ανέφερε ότι ο Πάρσονς είναι ομοφυλόφιλος και ότι έχει σχέση τα τελευταία δέκα χρόνια.[15] Το 2017 παντρεύτηκε τον σύντροφό του, που είναι ο καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής Todd Spiewak.[16] Τον Οκτώβριο 2013, ο Πάρσονς αποκάλεσε την σχέση τους "μια πράξη αγάπης με καφέ το πρωί, το να πηγαίνεις στην δουλειά, το να πλένεις τα ρούχα, το να βγάζεις τα σκυλιά βόλτα - μια συνηθισμένη ζωή".
